Fight for what you want! End up with the best gift and have fun training BJJ!
What to Bring
A wrapped gift (value agreed upon beforehand).
Players
Before the game, each player submits their BJJ weight class (IBJJF) and rank.
Gameplay
Draw Numbers: Each player draws a number (1 to the total number of players), determining the turn order.
First Turn: Player #1 chooses a gift from the pile and unwraps it.
Subsequent Turns: Each player, in order, can either:
Pull: Choose and unwrap a new gift.
Challenge: Challenge a player for an already unwrapped gift.
Challenges
The Call Out: The challenger declares, "Drop it off, [Player Name]."
Offense/Defense Selection:
The player in the lighter weight class chooses to be on offense or defense.
If weight classes are the same, the player with the lower rank chooses.
If both weight class and rank are the same, a coin flip determines who chooses.
Position Selection:
Spiderweb or Back Control: Lighter weight class chooses the starting position.
If weight classes are the same, the lower rank chooses.
If weight class and rank are the same, the player who lost the coin flip in Step 2 chooses the position.
The Match (3-minute Round):
Challenger's Goal (Offense): Get a submission within 3 minutes.
Challenger's Goal (Defense): Escape the position within 3 minutes.
Gift Holder's Goal: Prevent submission or escape position within the time limit.
Challenge Outcomes
Challenger Wins:The challenger takes the gift, and the challenged player pulls a new gift.
Gift Holder Wins by Time:
Settle:The Gift Holder pulls and unwraps a new gift, then keep one gift and gives the other to the challenger.
Gift Holder Wins by Escape or Submission: The gift holder can:
Option 1 (Settle): Pull and unwrap a new gift, then keep one gift and give the other to the challenger.
Option 2 (Revenge Challenge): Challenge another player for a gift, following all standard rules.
Game End
The game proceeds until all players have a gift, and the last player either pulls a gift or completes their challenge (including any Revenge Challenges).
Player #1's Final Challenge: After the last player's turn concludes, Player #1 now has the option to initiate one final challenge following the standard challenge rules. This challenge is resolved in the same way as all others. This is the final action of the game.
